Making Japan is an exhibition based in the Fashion Galleries at Lotherton Hall. It provides a ‘snapshot’ of Japanese culture, celebrating its vibrancy and creativity and emphasises the dynamic relationship between tradition and change.

The overall identity has a contemporary feel while combining a sense of traditional Japanese culture. The style is super simple and bold working well alongside different images and objects within the exhibition, as well as appealing to a wide and varied audience that the venue attracts.

To illustrate the different areas of the exhibition, we created a Japanese style icon for each section and ensured the design flowed throughout the whole space as well as printed and digital marketing.

“DUO’s design for the Making Japan exhibition was just what we required. Paul and Emily were always receptive to feedback and their design style allowed us to present the Japanese collections beautifully. Colleagues and I were equally impressed by the additional illustration work which went into the graphic identity and interactive element of the exhibition.”
